Aims & Objectives • To produce Pharmacy graduates with strong foundation concepts and high technical proficiency in pharmaceutical sciences and technology.
• To provide students with a strong and well-defined concept in the various fields of pharmaceutical sciences viz., Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Research according to the requirement of Pharmaceutical Industries, Community and Hospital pharmacy.
• To develop a sense of teamwork and awareness amongst students towards the importance of interdisciplinary approach for developing competence in solving complex problems in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• To encourage the students to participate in life-long learning process for a highly productive career and to relate the concepts of Pharmaceutical Sciences towards serving the cause of the society.


Introduction Pharmacy education has its roots way back in 1932 when it was started at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The pharmacy course has undergone many transformations to impart quality education on different aspects like industrial pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, clinical practices, and traditional systems of medicines. Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) is an undergraduate degree course in the field of Pharmacy education. It is a versatile and dynamic field and is considered as one of the most sought-after degrees in the healthcare industry because of better professional growth, rewards, and recognition as a profession and has wide career options. As a student of Pharmacy, you will learn about the diverse sources of medicines, related formulations, doses and their effects on the human body. Four-year degree course of Pharmacy deals with various subjects that broadly include synthesis of drugs, formulation of dosage forms, their chemical, instrumental and analysis, testing of new drugs on laboratory animals, patenting of the new drug, marketing of drugs, etc.


Special Features of the course • Pharmacy plays a pivotal role in research and testing a molecule for a disease or disorder before it is available for treatment. Pharmacists are an integral part of the healthcare industry. It is a major segment of the healthcare Industry contributing to research in medicinal drugs as well as developing, manufacturing, and supply of medications in the market.
• Pharmacists works diligently to assure the quality of medicines as per the regulations of Pharmacy Council. The Pharmacy sector is divided into different segments which includes hospital/clinical pharmacy, industrial pharmacy and Pharmacy Regulators, pharmacovigilance, community pharmacy, research and development and many others.
• A Bachelor of Pharmacy degree is the gateway for entering the Pharmacy sector in the Medical and Health Care Industry. One who pursues this degree studies core subjects including Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy.

Eligibility criteria Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary Certificate education (HSC i.e. 10+2 ) or its equivalent examination with a combination of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) obtained at least 50% marks (150 marks out of 300 marks) for general category &at least 45% marks (135 marks out of 300) marks in case of candidates of reserved categories and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State
